MINNESOTA Statutes § 514.011 Subdivision 1 mandates that a General/Prime contractor on a private Commercial or residential project must deliver a General/Prime Contractor's Pre-Lien Notice to both the Owner and/or the Owner's Authorized Agent within ten (10) days after the work of improvement is agreed upon. The Notice should be delivered in person or by Certified Mail to the Owner of the property and/or the Owner's Authorized Agent along with any other legal parties related to the improvement of the property (Customer, Lender). This notice can be included within a written contract. If there is no written contract, the General/Prime Contractor's Pre-Lien Notice must printed and delivered to the Owner of the property and/or the Owner's Authorized Agent.

Mechanic's Lien Statement

MINNESOTA Statutes § 514.08 mandates that you
must file a Mechanic's Lien Statement with the County Recorders Office
in the County where the project occurred. It must be filed within one hundred twenty (120)
days after the completion of providing labor, rental equipment, or materials.
It should also be delivered in person or by Certified Mail to the Owner
of the property along with any other legal parties related to the improvement
